Shiatsu... a deeply relaxing, traditional hands-on Japanese healing art
Shiatsu Treatments
Within a typical shiatsu treatment you remain fully clothed and are treated by rhythmic thumb, finger or elbow pressure on acu points and meridians along the body to help your energy flow more smoothly. You can expect to feel relaxed or invigorated depending on what your body needs at that time.
First visit
On your first visit you will be asked a few questions to help get a general indication of your health and overall wellbeing.
Before a treatment
It is best not to eat anything too heavy before a treatment though make sure you are not hungry either.
What to wear
Wear loose clothing such as leggings/jogging bottoms and a loose top without any belts so as you can get the full benefit of stretches and rotations.
After a treatment
It is advisable to drink plenty of water and eat only a light meal after treatments. This helps to rid the body of any toxins and not burden your digestive system.
