“Within an hour after my Shiatsu treatment my mind went completely calm and for the first time in a long while I was able to completely switch off… I got the best nights sleep in ages.”

Why Shiatsu is good for Stress
Shiatsu is a physical therapy that supports and strengthens the body’s natural ability to heal and balance itself. It works on the whole person; not just the physical body, but also the psychological, emotional and spiritual being. It therefore provides a totally unique therapeutic experience that supports a busy mind, tense body or ungrounded spirit – ideal for the fast paced lifestyles we are all so familiar with today.
Paradoxically, this very ancient art form is excellent for supporting present-day symptoms of overdrive and stress!
Stress is the most common issue I treat in my practice. It is the root of many ailments such as muscle tension or joint stiffness. Stress can also be the cause of emotional issues like insomnia. This is especially so when there are feelings of overwhelm. It enables you to relax and see things clearly. Fatigue on the other hand can be the result of trying to cope with stress for too long and running on empty.

I completed my 3 year graduate course with the Glasgow School of Shiatsu. I’m an MRSS member, and previous Board Director of The Shiatsu Society, which is the national govern body for most Shiatsu therapists in the UK. I practice from Nurture Integrated Health Clinic in the West End of Glasgow.
